WEST's Aims
Through the development of a targeted and coordinated educational programme across Wales, the WEST Project aims to promote the rapid uptake and commercialisation of research and technology to promote a low carbon economy in Wales.- Encourage the uptake of education and CPD on science, technology and innovation use and management in businesses through the provision of appropriate courses and modules, increasing awareness of renewable energy technologies and energy efficiency, highlighting the incentive of profit improvements through skills availability and value-added services.
- Increase the skills capacity and knowledge capital at management levels in Welsh businesses.
- Increase the opportunities to enhance and utilise innovation skills.
- Increase the use of renewable energy technologies and energy efficiency across Wales.
- Increase awareness, amongst clients, that Welsh companies are desirable because of their knowledge of renewable energies and energy efficiency.
- Advance rural development and rural employment through business improvement and new opportunities and enhance urban regeneration through business opportunities and expertise in sustainable construction.
